Far-infrared
waves are a safe form of light energy that is thermal. In other words, we
experience infrared waves every day in the form of heat like sunlight, a fire
or a warm sidewalk. Far-infrared waves heat objects by direct light conversion
- a process that directly warms the object, not the surrounding air. It's the
heat you feel penetrate your skin when you stand in the sun - and miss when you
walk into the shade. Far-infrared heat (FIR) is also referred to as radiant
heat, infrared heat or infrared energy.
Far-infrared
heat has been widely used in the healthcare industry; in fact, many neonatal
care units are often equipped with infrared heating systems to keep babies
warm. Far Infrared Heat is the invisible part of the Sun's spectrum. It has
nothing to do with the ultraviolet light which can damage your skin. FIR waves
are capable of penetrating deep into the human body, where they gently elevate
the body's surface temperature and activate major bodily functions.
A negative ion or "anion"
is a molecule with a negative charge assigned to it. Negative ions occur
commonly throughout nature and can create an overall sense of well-being and
are sometimes referred to as "The vitamin of the air". Remember that
feeling you've experienced near a waterfall, the beach or high in the
mountains? Those are places where thousands of negative ions occur. They are
created in nature by molecules breaking apart due to sunlight radiation,
and moving air and water.
Negative ions are found after a rainstorm (falling
water creates negative ions) or after a lightning strike. Every home has its
own built in negative ionizer- your shower. The smell in the air generated
after a rainfall is actually the odor of negatively charged ions in the
air. Have you ever noticed how good it feels to breathe fresh country
air? Your mother always said fresh air would do you good, but is it
really something in the air that makes you feel so alive? Well, Yes! Negative
ions to be precise...
